Gas Guzzlers - 3D Vision Fix
3D Vision Fix by mike_ar69
Fixed
1. Skybox.
2. Distant terrain.
Screenshots and Video
Screenshots and videos can be found on SolutionGaming, here GasGuzzlers SG.
Summary
A simple fix for the sky and distant terrain, that seems to work very well in all levels tested.
Outstanding Issues
There are some minor issues, that were worked on:
1. There is a slight fog/smoke issue, that was easy to track down and identify, but which can't be fixed with the latest DLL. It can be disabled using the debugger if anyone cares to.
2. HUD is at screen depth, including car name tags. I fixed this initially, but then found out that not all Hud elements displayed correctly at resolutions different to desktop. The fix involved compensating for a pre-shader that uses screen size, and I am guessing that is where the problem lies.
The above are small issues, and the game looks fantastic otherwise.

Microsoft Flight Simulator X (FSX)
Fix by Bo3b
Fixed:
Removed the screen depth lights on runways, towers, beacons.
BEFORE:
Removed the screen depth lights on runways, towers, beacons.
BEFORE:
AFTER:
Description:
FSX is one of the top flight simulators, and works fairly well in 3D. Convergence and depth work well.
The lighting effects have always been a problem, and dramatically detract from the experience in 3D, because all lights are at screen depth.
This fix is marginal, because it only deletes the light effects and aircraft labels. That means that day flying is now pretty good, but night flying loses all the runway lights. Maybe pretend that it's an airport power failure.
How to install (this is not a Helix mod):
0) This only works for the SP2 version of FSX.
1) Use the standard FSX profile. Other profiles were tested, but don't solve the problem.
2) Rename "..\Texture\halo.bmp" to "original halo.bmp" to disable runway lights.
3) Rename "..\Effects\texture\fx_2.bmp" to "original fx_2.bmp" to disable beacons.
4) Go to Settings->Customize->Traffic and uncheck "Show aircraft labels" to disable red text over other airplanes.
---------------------------
I'm still looking into a fix, instead of just deleting the effect, but it's not promising.
Microsoft coded all graphic effects in a 2D library 'g2d.dll'. The effects appear to be hard coded and are done after the 3D pipeline has completed. There are no vertex shaders associated with the effects, and the items in the 3D models that are used for placement are not visible.
The effects for sun, moon, fireworks, and smoke also have the same problem. I did not delete them, because of their rarity. It should be possible to delete other graphic files if that seems worthwhile.

3D Vision Fix by mike_ar69
This is a WIP, developed for the Beta. There are still several issues in the release version of the game, but this mod does make the game very playable ("Fair" rating).
Fixed
1. Lighting
2. Halos
3. Shadows
4. Heat Haze
5. Wall Reflections
6. Some Hud Elements
7. Fog, smoke
8. Provided two convergence presets (high/low) (toggle with key "9")
9. Left in a toggle for fix on/off (toggle with key "0")

Summary
This fix is a port from my PayDay the Heist fix. I had to convert a few to different CRCs, but it all seems to work. There are few remaining issues, as well as the issues that still remained in Pay Day The Heist. Since this is a beta release of the game, I won't be able to test all levels until the game is finally out.
Outstanding Issues
1. Lighting is vastly improved but there still remains visible 'light cones' or more correctly 'light domes' around lamps and wall/ceiling lights. Quite ignorable though after a short while, though some wall lights also look a bit 'off' since I removed a fix that aligned the lights properly but enhanced the 'dome' effect and I think it looks better this way.
2. Shadows are vastly improved but not quite 'fixed' in the perfect sense. The shadows are perfect when the convergence is set = 1. I do not know why. I provide two convergence presets, one for when C=1, and one for when C<>1. You should not mess with the C=1 preset, those shadows are perfect and if you don't mind playing a bit flat, it's not too awful. The other preset uses an approximation for the shadows for all other values of convergence and it does not look bad - the shadows just look a bit 'under the ground' rather than stuck on it. I finally discovered why this happens, but have not found a solution yet, other than to look for a different shader that might fix the shadows (I fixed a Vertex shader, but there is also a Pixel shader). The reason the shadows don't work for all convergence is because in the vertex shader, after doing the VPM transform the transformed value for r0.z is ALWAYS =0, and the transformed value for r0.w is ALWAYS =1. i.e. there is NO DEPTH INFORMATION. I have never seen this before.
3. HUD - the HUD is different in this game to PayDay1, and the current fix only affects some HUD elements.
4. Shadows from ceiling fans display at screen depth (new feature not in PayDay1) Some of the games 2D rendering is a bit crap and cheap, and nothing to do with stereo 3D or the fix: for example shadows rendering quality visibly changes from 'OK' to 'awful' before your eyes as you get closer to or further away from them; in game setting disable the 'adaptive lighting', it makes things look dark in odd ways (I think its trying to do some kind of HDR).
Installation
1. Extract this zip file to the games exe directory. In my case this is D:\Steam\steamapps\common\PAYDAY 2 Beta.
2. Play.

Spec Ops : The Line =Helix Update= [Update 07/14]
By Helix/Eqzitara
Update 2:
Added depth crosshairs to new version, added helix's shadow code
Added depth crosshairs to new version, added helix's shadow code
IMPORTANT:
New version has disabled subtitles. Their was an issue when porting fix to new format and this was only solution I could find. If this is a problem download old version which has worse shadows.
Issues remaining
No subtitles, hud elements at wrong depth, minor.
No subtitles, hud elements at wrong depth, minor.
Optional:
Disable fog/dust effect[Its not broken. Game just goes heavy with it. It limits visibility which kind of goes against S3D.]
This was one of my first UE3 fixes and its hud is a bit of a mismatch. Besides that it only has a few remaining issues. As long as subtitles aren't an issue its still around an excellent/great.

Installation:
Optional-Cycle Frustum(Default hotkey CTRL-F11): Change your frustum till bloodstains don't cutoff. To change hotkey go into nvidia control panel. Set up stereoscopic 3d. Set Keyboard shortcuts. Enable advanced.
Recommended Settings
All Settings Can be Maxed. I personally recommend turning off ambient occlusion. Its very low grade in this particular game. Similar to Borderlands 1. Its up to preference though.

Painkiller Black
Painkiller Black
Fixed: Taking damage caused game to go 2D.
This is NOT Hell & Damnation. TBH, I went to look at Hell & Damnation and it just seemed like a lot of work with little reward when I felt that Black was better. So maybe someone else will do it but I just don't see the point personally. Anywho, Painkiller Black was the pinnacle of the series for me.
This was kind of ridiculously easy to do and should apply to other games in the series if they have this issue besides Hell & Damnation [I did not test the other games.] I dont feel like looking for the cd's but if you want to try its drag + drop.
Instructions by Joohan:
Set Crosshair transparency to 100%
Go into: Advanced Graphic Options you should turn Water FX to Low (same as changing WaterFX=0 in the config.ini) and turn Warp Effects Off
Turn off 3D vision on opening cinematic

Summary
A surprisingly fun game, once you get past the stage where all you have is a crappy little gun. Varied levels, and performs great.
Out of the box stereo is TERRIBLE. Everything is wrong with lighting and shadows, fog, smoke etc.
I would rate the fix as GOOD, since there are still issues remaining, but it is entirely playable, and if in doubt at any point how bad it was, press the "0" toggle key.

3. HUD - in the menus there is in a couple of places where you select from a list an orange stripe that highlights the selection that is always at screen depth. Could not find a shader to turn that off. Press "0" to disable all fixes while in menus to put all the HUD at screen depth if this bothers you.
4. Some minor effects. For example on the Bridge Level, the rain drops that splash on the ground are in 2d at screen depth.
Some of the games 2D rendering is a bit crap and cheap, and nothing to do with stereo 3D or the fix: for example shadows rendering quality visibly changes from 'OK' to 'awful' before your eyes as you get closer to or further away from them; in game setting disable the 'adaptive lighting', it makes things look dark in odd ways (I think its trying to do some kind of HDR).
